Urban Decay- Alice In Wonderland Palette

Urban Decay is a funky, hip cosmetics company that is known for crazy colors and lots of glitter. Urban Decay got its start when Sandy Lerner couldn't find her perfect shade of purple nail polish (something I know us girls can relate to!) She teamed together with David Soward and together they created 10 radical shades of lip stick and 12 shades of nail polish, also in alternative colors. The creative tag line for these products was, "Does Pink Make You Puke?" Since 1996, they have been unstoppable in creating fierce products that add the glamour to our look that us girls love!

I immediately fell in love with the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows Palette in a Youtube makeup tutorial by Jessica Harlow. She has a lot of fun with the palette and from watching several of Jessica's tutorials, I knew it could provide endless looks and was an investment that I had to make.

I walked into Ulta yesterday imperiously knowing exactly what I was looking for. There it stood, the Book of Shadows right in front on display and there was only two left. I proudly showed my stepmom the product I was going to purchase, talking about it momentarily as she nodded in agreement. I clutched it tightly in my grasp while walking around store, almost as if someone was going to snatch it away. Now I can create magnificent looks with my own Urban Decay's Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows!!

The Alice in Wonderland Palette Book of Shadows is definitely no different from the other products created by Urban Decay. When looking at the box itself, it is very high fashion; decorated in a Victorian style design with teacups and teapots. The touch of metallic copper stand out with the nicely arranged black and gray background.

It has a magnetic tab that when flipped open appears the Alice in Wonderland a 3D Pop-Up scene in perfect representation of the upcoming movie by Tim Burton. Urban Decay added a mirror which gives your the effect like you are in the scene yourself. It is a perfect representation for the launch of Tim Burton's movie, Alice in Wonderland.

The Alice in Wonderland palette hides away sixteen fun shades in a secret compartment that are mixed between matte and glitter. All colors in the Book of Shadows are Urban Decay's best selling eyeshadows. The names designated for each color is based off the story of Alice in Wonderland like: Mad Hatter, Underland, Drink Me, Eat me; just to name a few. Included in this Book of Shadows is an Eyeshadow Primer Potion, that is amazing and also two eye liners (zero and flipside) that glide on smooth and easy. As quoted from the Urban Decay website, the looks obtained from this palette can range from, "smoky neutral eyes to flashes of hallucinogenic green and purple, the looks you can create are as endless as the rabbit hole itself."

I used my Book of Shadows to duplicate a look as seen by Jessica Harlow, Lady Gaga inspired makeup from the Grammys, today while getting ready for a photoshoot. The colors mixed wonderfully and gave me the desired look that I had been longing to achieve. I would highly recommend anyone to buy this product. It is worth the purchase and Urban Decay is quickly becoming one of my favorite makeup companies. I look forward to sharing new products with you from Urban Decay and if you buy the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows, please let me know how you like it!
